Thank you! ❤️#tcdhappyfriends 😊
I'm busy working on some custom designs lately! So happy and appreciate to my regular customers who put trust on me, asked me to design without restrictions, hence allowed me to freely choose the complimentary charms, stones and crystals that match with each theme. Eventually, they turn out to be pretty pieces! Genuine conversations always make things easier to find through one's preferences.
Thank you! ❤️#tcdhappyfriends 😊
After spending one week at Melbourne, my next destination is Sydney for another week!
The weather in Sydney is apparently much warmer than Melbourne 🌞. On my first day, of course, went to the famous Sydney Opera House overlooking Sydney Harbour Bridge, and fresh Royal Botanic Garden which located just beside the Opera House. I brought some of my jewelry pieces with me that day, was intended to take nice outdoor pictures with leafy garden background, but sadly it was raining and I forgot to bring my umbrella! Aaaa....☔️
On the other side of Circular Quay, there is The Rocks market, another must-visit place if you're in town! Besides cafes and food stalls, there you'll find passionate people selling things such as dresses and bags designed by the stallholder, one-off jewelry, original artworks and prints in a cool, relaxed environment.
The Blue Mountains is densely populated by oil bearing Eucalyptus trees. The atmosphere is filled with finely dispersed droplets of oil, which, in combination with dust particles and water vapour, scatter short-wave length rays of light which are predominantly blue in color. I booked a tour to Blue Mountain, but actually, it's not difficult to get here by yourself (via public transportation). There are hop on and off buses which take you to several tourist spots in Blue Mountains area without hassle. Once there, you should take the Scenic Skyway, Scenicsender and the Steepest Railway to see the breathtaking views of Katoomba mountain villages and the famous Three Sisters Rocks. Such a fresh mountain air!
Hunter Valley Wine Tasting
First, I'm not a drinker, but I was so curious for this wine-tasting tour and before I knew it, I booked this super memorable tour. We traveled down to Hunter Valley about 2 hours drive from Sydney CBD. It is one of Australia's best wine regions (another one is Yarra Valley in Melbourne), known for its internationally acclaimed Semillon, family-owned wineries, innovative young winemakers, delicious restaurants and fresh produce. We visited 3 different boutique wineries and tasted over 20 wine varieties.. Semillon, Shiraz, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Verdelho (read: red wine, white wine, sparkling wine and sweet wine 😆). OK I almost drunk! 🍸🍾😵
The Finders Keepers Sydney
Besides Markit in Melbourne, this is the second handmade market I visited in Australia.
The Finders Keepers is a design market that features the works of independent makers from across Australia, with new sellers being showcased at each event. Every time I scrolled their posts on Instagram, I always thought how nice would it be if I can go and check out myself, and now I did it!
The Finders Keepers is more of a festival than a market. The event combines design, art, good food, live music and a fun community spirit under one awesome roof. Each stalls with their amazing product presentations are well-prepared and so professional which inspired me even more!
Bondi Beach & Art Gallery
These are the last two stops in Sydney before going back to Jakarta: Bondi Beach - Australia's most famous beach, and Art Gallery NSW - one of the most popular art museums in Australia, featuring modern and contemporary works.
And that concludes my 2-weeks beautiful journey to Australia. I'm so pleased and full of joy to feel the atmosphere of Melbourne and Sydney. Australian people are so so friendly and always greet each other with smiles 😊. Other than that, I also made new friends from Thailand, Vietnam, India, France, Malaysia and Singapore during the tours. I cherish every moment I travel to new places I've never visited before, as I can learn new things, gain fresh insight and refresh my mind. The experience is priceless!
Above all, thank you for reading! I really appreciate it! 😊
I'm writing this diary as my personal record for my 2-weeks solo trip to Australia early this month. If you are my Instagram followers, you had probably scrolled through some of my posts on those days.
I had a VERY exciting moments in Melbourne and Sydney. I stayed (love Airbnb!) and ate locals, went to two local artisan handmade markets, joined sightseeing tours to suburbs areas, and of course, be friends with koalas and kangaroos.. 😆
Great Ocean Road
I booked a 1-day-tour to Great Ocean Road to see these breathtaking panoramic coastal views! Our tour guide was very friendly and informative, he stopped many times along the way and let us enjoyed some famous spots to take pictures. We traveled down to the Great Ocean Road, passed along Victoria's southwest coast, long golden beach, Lorne and Apollo Bay, Cape Otway Lighthouse, eucalyptus trees rainforest, Loch Ard Gorge and the Twelve Apostles in one day! I definitely recommend this road tour especially if you're attached with beach and ocean. 🌊🌊🌊
Churchill & Phillip Island
It's another day-tour I took and it was a perfect day! Depart from Melbourne city in the morning, we first visited Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park for a hands-on wildlife experience. I cuddled the superstar koala (named Blue Gum) and hand-fed the kangaroos! It's just not enough time for me to enjoy all of this exciting wildlife experience, as we need to depart to another destination - Churchill Island before visiting the Koala Conservation Centre. As dusk falls, we enjoyed the main highlight event at Summerland Beach. Witnessed the little penguin parade as they return home from a day of fishing at sea, waddling their way up the sands to their burrows on Phillip Island. We're not allowed to take any pictures of these penguins, but I swear, they are SUPER CUTE! 🐧🐧🐧
Australia's handmade market - Markit is a one-day shopping extravaganza held twice a year in The Atrium and Deakin Edge theatre at Federation Square. It was such a coincidence that they're holding their 8th year event when I was in Melbourne. I was thrilled to see the work of over 80 Australian designer stalls including ceramicists, jewellers, fashion designers, illustrators, and more while sampling some of Melbourne's best food and coffee from the new BakeSale pop-up cafe. Plus, the location is perfectly right at the city center where we can walk along Yarra River after visiting the market.
Sea Life Melbourne Aquarium
I got a free ticket to Sea Life Melbourne Aquarium and Eureka Skydeck 88 from the tour I booked to Great Ocean Road and Churchill Phillip Islands. So here I came to say hello with the fiiiishess, tooooadss, seaaaahorsess, staaaarfishess, tuuuurtless, jellyyyyfishess, peeeenguinss... 🐠🐟🐸🐢🐧
Lightning Ridge Opal Mines
As a gemstone jewelry designer, how can I miss to visit authentic Opal (the national gemstone of Australia) store, right? Lightning Ridge Opal Mines is a great place to buy Opals and learn about them. They have a wildlife section with snakes, spiders, blue tongue lizards, and other unique species the miners encountered. They also show you how to cut and polish Opals and teach about the different types of Opals you can buy and what to look for when buying. It's a family owned and operated business with great staff and service. Nick, the owner is very friendly! After an hour wandering around the store selecting some pieces, and before I left, I asked if it is okay to take a picture together with him. He was so pleased and so did I! 📸
P.S. It was like taking picture with a superstar, because Nick has been featured numerous time in newspapers and magazines, appeared on the TV shows, and published his first book "What You Think is What You Get!".
Sovereign Hill Ballarat
I must say this is my most favorite place in Melbourne! The Sovereign Hill at Ballarat.
It is where Australia’s history comes to life! Just like stepping back in time, from the hustle and bustle of Main Street where costumed ladies and gents parade their new-found wealth, to the excitement of the Red Hill Gully Diggings where you can pan for real gold and it’s yours to keep! There are many other activities at Sovereign Hill to enjoy: the spectacular $100,000 gold pour, venture underground on a fully-guided gold mine tour or catch a horse-drawn coach and tour the town. See steam-driven machinery in action and chat with candle-makers and confectioners as they ply their trades. All the beautiful old architectures and locals dressed in clothing from the era of 1850s. I spent 4+ hours to experience all the activities around! Seriously, I LOVE Sovereign Hill!! 😍
And NEXT, let's go to Sydney... ✈️
I have shared a post before about cleansing crystals with moonlight. Just a few days ago, I found this perfect guide for all types of cleansing method and charging your crystals that you might try!
Thanks to The Crystal Tree who provides such complete guide!
Bagcharm from top: Golden Farmhouse // Moss Bloody Mary // Playground
I'd love to share these stunning creations I've just made few days ago!
It's my first time designing such extraordinary bagcharms / bag accessories, special requested by a lovely customer ^^
The top two pieces are Tiger's Eye and Indian Bloodstone aroma bottle (yes! you can put essential oil inside the bottle and carry it wherever you go), which then adorned with charms, Swarovski, and other stones and crystals. How I LOVE the fun process when crafting this piece! ❤️
And then there is a statement pin brooch with tropical multi-colored druzy stone (which I named as: "Wild World"), and another long type necklace with art-o-wire wrap style druzy stone (titled: "Lightning Beam").
In case you missed my diary post, there is another Wearable Art that I shared last year. Take a look and let me know your thoughts! =)

Tree Craft Diary: 來自印尼的天然石創意首飾 Natural Stone Creative Jewelry from Indonesia
Q: What is the meaning behind Tree Craft Diary?
A: By utilizing one of the earth materials – natural gemstone, Tree Craft Diary emphasizes their natural characteristics, embraces the fusion of fashion and nature, thus, creatively crafts them with unique attributes to create jewelry with a story.
My brand’s style is unique yet fun, one-of-a-kind style. I believe the unusual beauties speak for themselves. I hope my brand can bring joy and happiness, as well as deliver the message inside each product to the wearer.
Q: How is your journey on becoming a designer?
A: In 2008, I gained a Bachelor of Art majoring in industrial design at a design university in Malaysia. Worked as a product designer in Singapore, I let my creative juice kept flowing. Day by day, all the ideas were poured into a diary and eventually, in 2012, I took a step forward to design jewelry accessories for unique seekers who adore the art of nature. A label Tree Craft Diary then was born.
Q: What do you think a good design is?
A: I think design is something that can pleases us, something that can makes us happy. When we adore at specific design, we are being connected with the product, as well as with the designer’s mind.
As a designer, the most interesting about design is we can put a story or message while designing a product. And sometimes, people do understand what the story or the message is, only by looking at the design.
Q: Please share your creative process
A: Like the branches of a lush tree, inspiration never comes to end. I keep evolving and designing various styles of jewelry accessories in contemporary way. I hand-pick each gemstone and hunt for intriguing materials over the world to add fresh sparks to my latest lines.

Q: What would you do if you have no inspiration?
A: When I have no inspiration or stuck, I would just stop doing on that particular thing, refresh my mind and move on to the other task. Surprisingly, every time I took a step back, I can think clearer and gain better resolutions to come back and get it done!
Q: Can you share with us your favorite creation?
A: Angel of Love and Ice Age are two of my favs!
- A sweet-looking “Angel of Love” is crafted from Rose Quartz – the stone of love and angel’s wing charm. Lovely isn’t it?
- While the movie inspired “Ice Age” is made of raw Aquamarine stone with small elephant charm. I love that ice-look stone and the cool-color combination.
Q: Lastly, if you could sum your experience in one sentence to encourage young designers, what would it be?
A: We all learn by doing. Don’t wait until your idea is “perfect” to start it. Trust your gut, take the first step and put it up to the world. You’ll see how it blooms.
Here comes the month of February and Valentine's day! 💗
For the past years, I've always created two separate collections for both themes - Febmethyst that features Amethyst as February birthstone, and another special Valentine's day collection. This year, I'd like to combine these two and make a fusion set which I named as [ Love, Guardian ].
[ Love, Guardian ] - A beautiful collection that features the most well-known healing crystals: purple Amethyst as the official February birthstone, and pink Rose Quartz a.k.a the love stone to celebrate the sweet Valentine's day.
:: AMETHYST ::
Peace - Balance - Serenity - Meditation - Intuition - Self-Awareness
Amethyst crystals are exceptional for providing spiritual protection, inner strength and clarity of mind, making them a classic meditation tool. Meditating with them can help you to become more in tune with our feelings, helping you to get to know yourself on a much deeper level. It also stimulates the Crown Chakra and calms your thoughts, making it a powerful aid in meditation.
:: ROSE QUARTZ ::
Love - Balance - Tranquility - Compassion - Protection - Self-Discipline
A symbol of gentle love and beauty, Rose Quartz speaks directly to the Heart Chakra. It dissolves emotional wounds, fears, resentments and circulates a divine loving energy throughout the entire aura. Reawakening the heart to its own innate love, it provides a deep sense of personal fulfillment and contentment, allowing one of the capacity to truly give and receive love from others.
Both are the best-known crystals for general healing. Rose Quartz works very well in combination with Amethyst, and is capable of soothing the Amethyst’s energies. The benefits that Amethyst is bringing to the spirit, Rose Quartz can deliver to the heart.
Here’s the list of FULL MOON in 2017.
Bookmark these dates and do remember to cleanse your crystals periodically.
Sharing this little tips that I read from Crystal Guidance.
By the word “cleanse” it means an energetic cleansing, not a physical one. When we work with a crystal, it can absorb some of the negative energy and change its vibrational frequency. You want to help them get their energy and vibrational frequency back to its original perfect state.
To do so, put your crystal jewelry, pendants and bracelets that you wear all the time (or new pieces that you just bought) on a tray and leave them outside to cleansing or re-tuning crystals in the moonlight. If you can’t put them outside, you can put them in front of your window where moonlight can come into. The energy is still around us. Bring them inside in the morning.
It’s okay if you can’t put them out on the day of the full moon. The lunar energy is at its strongest for three days. The day before, the day of the full moon, and the day after. You can put them out any of those three days. Check out this link to know the exact dates for full moon calendar.
P.S. Crystals love moonlight!
